Media and Body Image with Kate Willett

Media entrepreneur Kate Willett explains why, as a woman in the media industry, she has become an advocate for women’s education and awareness of body image issues caused by conditions such as lipedema. Kate talks about her own experience, and about cultural and media-driven views that contribute to negative body image and undermine a deeper self-confidence in women. She shares her hope that young women with lipedema, and young women in general, can find greater degrees of self-acceptance and confidence that are not based on cultural ideals of body image and anti-fat bias. Kate Willett is Founder and Chief Relationship Officer at ViralGains, an integrated video company for the social space based in Boston, MA.
